WIFI not working during BLE scan (linux)

I have noticed, if I attempt a BLE scan, (with wifi on), the wifi connection fails. The WIFI connection continues to be broken when the ble scan is stopped. When bluetooth is turned off the WIFI connection resumes…

below are the commands I use for the ble scan

/etc/init.d/bluetooth start
hcitool lescan

once the lesan is started, the wifi connection fails, until bluetooth is stopped completely.

I am running linux (Debian Jessie, linux kernel 4.4.23), and using bluez 5.23
I am using bluez

this is a known issue. there is no clear resolution date at this point. , unfortunately. the issue will be investigated by QCOM.
