RAM expansion for HiKey board

#1

Hi,

I find the HiKey board very interesting for cluster computing. With 8 cores it is close to the recommended HW specifications for Spark slave nodes https://spark.apache.org/docs/latest/hardware-provisioning.html. Adding more disks is easy via USB ports, but the problem is that 1 GB is too little for Spark. Is there any way to add an additional RAM expansion card to the HiKey board?, or maybe there are plans for a future version with 8 GB RAM or more?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Greetings,

Juan

The RAMs are soldered and there are no expansion slots.
A 2GB version is coming.

Not aware of plans for more.

The AMD Enterprise version has 2 DDR3 SO-DIMM sockets, but doesn’t exactly say what’s the maximum you can put in them.
