Login Screen Crash

Hi all,

I performed a distro update (apt-get update/upgrade/dist-upgrade) and on the next reboot, the terminal #7 with the login screen already starts with the “linaro” user selected and a text field for password below, under the password field there are the options suspend, restart, shutdown and different user.

On bottom-left, there is a dropdown menu with the “Desktop Session” options:

  • LXQT Desktop (default)
  • Plasma
  • Xfce Session

First of all, I would like to do not require login screen as Dragonboard used to behave prior to upgrade, how can I configure that ?
Next, even with the correct password for user “linaro” the screen turns black and returns to login page without entering the Desktop (I tried the 3 options). Why is that happening ? How can be fixed ?
I confirmed that my password is correct through terminal #1 and ssh login.

I did the upgrade with the most recent Debian (buster) and kernel 4.14.0-qcomlt-arm64 (alip) and now the startup do not presents a login screen…
