GPIO Library equivalent of WiringPi

So in search of an equivalent to WiringPi for the Dragonboard I have yet to find anything as convenient. I see 96BoardsGPIO hasn’t been touched and currently I have had to create my own sysfs wrapper

I guess I am asking is there already an effort to create a WiringPi equivalent for the Dragonboard (and/or all 96boards) as I would be happy to contribute!
