Audio blocksize

OS: Linux 4.9
I’m finding the minimum blocksize for audio is very large on the Dargonboard410c. It is proving a bit of a hinderance for use in a realtime audio based system.

I have been unable to find any specifics metrics for blocksize/buffersize for the PM8916/APQ8016 which handles the audio on the board so the driver seems to be the only point of reference.

Has anyone experience modifying the APQ8016 driver to use a smaller buffer/blocksize?
