OpenEmbedded tutorial build fails

OpenEmbedded builds according to the instructions here fail with error:

ERROR: gcc-runtime-linaro-6.2-r2016.11 do_package: debugsrc symlink fixup failed with exit code 2

It has failed twice with the same message. There were warnings during build:

My goal is to build this reference system to make sure it’s possible with this environment (BunsenLabs VM in VirtualBox) before diving into the Yocto docs to customize my image for realzies. Any ideas?

i would recommend using the ‘thud’ manifest branch. the wiki you refer to was never updated… and still points to ‘morty’.

assuming you are using DB410c (since you are posting in this section of the forum), you might want to look at our most recent OE based release for DB410c, see:

http://releases.linaro.org/96boards/dragonboard410c/linaro/openembedded/19.01/

I would use the pre-built, but this is practice for rolling our own custom builds. It’s still building (61%) but clearly past the error point. I’m calling this fixed. Thanks!

For clarity, the fix was using the thud branch instead of morty via the command:
repo init -u https://github.com/96boards/oe-rpb-manifest.git -b thud
https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/Releases

that’s great. in fact I wasn’t asking you to use the prebuilt… we have prebuilt for OE just to have an evidence that it built at least once

so i was just asking if you could switch to the thud branch, so it’s all looking good now!
