Marginality with UFS chip change?

Hi @baou,

Maybe this topic can help you. I had the same issue last week

@baou Do you still have this UFS issue? Hisilicon guys tried the new HiKey960 boards with THG UFS. But they can’t reproduce it with both build #79 and their local build.

Well unfortunately yes we still have a couple of “THG” UFS boards showing the issue. We had to put them appart as they are frankly unusable.
Since then, we got boards with Hynix UFS part and they are working like a charm.
Older boards with Samsung UFS still also work well.

when update the 32GB UFS to 64GB UFS,
after./hikey_idt -c config -p /dev/ttyUSB1
then : fastboot flash ptable prm_ptable.img

I got the same issue as this.

I download the bootload from here:

Hi, baou
We did the stress tests internally with “THG” ufs board, but we didn’t reproduce the problem.
So, I wonder if you could send us the problem boards in your hand for further analysis to see if it’s a hardware problem.

You can send it to the following address and addressee:

Huawei Base, No.127, Jinye Road, Xi’an High-Tech Development District, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, P.R. China

Postal Code:710077

Mobile:02913484901094

Thanks!

Hi,

Pls have a look at Synchronous Exception at 0x0000000000000000 while flashing prm_ptable.img - #9 by baou

It looks like this problem recovers from a specific EDK2 commit.

Thanks & Regards.

The uefi bootloader was updated back in May. Please see details;
