Guest OS ubuntu 14.04 can not find Hikey usb device with Virtualbox

Hi sir,

My native OS is Win7 and I mounted guest Ubuntu 14.04 with virtualbox 5.1.8 as following picture.

I thinks virtualbox setting is ok but do ls /dev/ttyUSB* or lsusb, can not have hikey’s usb.
Some player suggest me switch to pure ubuntu OS for solving this. Is it only one way solution?

Anyone can help me? I suffered from this issue for a long time. Many thanks.

Yes, please use pure Linux based OS to solve this. It will save you a lot of time and effort.
