Seems like the kernel doesn’t find ‘init’ program in file system. So please check if you have mount root fs from MMC or you are using proper ramdisk image.

That is rather difficult because you’ve deleted the top half of the log. Please share full logs using a pastebin or github gist.

I found it only can enclose pictures but not log file.

The root FS mounting device node is a bit suspicious for me. Usually, I use ‘system’ partition in UFS to flash Debian root FS, so its device node should be ‘/dev/sdd13’. Are you using SD card as root fs?

Another thing is: could you confirm what’s your building method for boot.img?

For a reference, you could check the prebuilt boot.img + Debian rootFS for Hikey960 [1][2], they can work well at my side. After that I think you could replace with your built kernel in Debian system.

Once I download the rootfs from the link…
After extracting the file it creates the img file…from img file gain I tried to compress but not generating the actual file system in (like /bin /usr /tmp etc way)
Kindly help how to extract the file

Usually I use below command to use the the image:

gunzip rootfs-linaro-stretch-developer-hikey-20180212-17.img.gz
fastboot flash system rootfs-linaro-stretch-developer-hikey-20180212-17.img

I use UEFI; I even don’t know there have u-boot support for Hikey960 :slight_smile: Please note, the linkage I shared http://snapshots.linaro.org/96boards/hikey/linaro/debian/latest/boot-linaro-stretch-developer-hikey-20180212-17.img.gz which is verified with UEFI but I don’t think uboot can support it.

You could use webpage https://pastebin.com/ to copy log, or I think you could use the commands in Ubuntu to send logs to pastebin.com:

sudo apt-get install pastebinit
pastebinit -i shared.log -b http://pastebin.com

Yeah, please share your log, we will see if can find any clue.
