I think my UFS chip is end of life, which might be the reason I cannot boot any further after the first trusted firmware. As I understand, both normal boot and recovery procedure rely on accessing to the UFS chip. This is a very unfortunate lockdown, unless there is a way to boot from SD card. On TV sticks SD card boot is always tried first. I’m not sure that’s the case of Hikey 970. Do you know of any method to boot Hikey 970 from SD card? An alternative SPI firmware maybe?
